Working in Schools
Early intervention, consistent support, and a trusted presence in your school community
I have been working in educational settings since I began my training,
and school-based counselling remains one of the most meaningful parts of my practice. Catching difficulties early, providing a trusted adult outside of the family or teaching staff, and building a young person's capacity to manage their emotional world are all things that good school counselling can do.
I have experience across the full range of educational settings, from primary schools through to sixth form colleges, and I currently work across seven primary schools and one secondary school through Northpoint Wellbeing in Leeds. I see clients individually and also run talks and groups tailored to the specific needs of each school's student population.
I hold an up-to-date enhanced DBS certificate and have completed safeguarding training for children and young people with Leeds City Council.
